LUCHON

With this little backyard located in South of France, the client asked for a transformation to achieve warm and cozy space to relax. The space had to be also functional and include some storage space, a table to enjoy a drink and some seated area.

The space has a very limited sun access because of  the very high walls surrounding it. Almost no sunlight comes into it. To make the site successfully thrive, only shadow liking plants were selected for this design.

Minding client expectations, the colour palette was dominated by warm earthy tones such as beiges, light browns and cream topped with olive colours and different shades of warm greens

The changes included warm tone decking installed all over the concrete surface and a warm sand stone cladding on one of the walls. Elements such as hammock, bistro table and a wooden storage shed were carefully selected to complement the design and colour palette.

Large planters and pots implemented into design provide enough space for selected plants to thrive and create a warm oasis for relaxation and retreat.
